2 Moorlands Reviews

We really enjoyed our stay at 2 Moorlands. It is a great house with stunning views. The house was clean and tidy with everything we needed for our stay. Would definitely book again
We would like to thank the team at no2 Moorlands, for a memorable family stay. We came prepared to decorate for Christmas, but, Bertha had already done so, tastefully. The high winds were a bit of a pain in the annex, but, apart from that, everything was provided for, for our family Christmas. Thoroughly enjoyed and recommende no2 Moorlands.
2 Moorlands is a lovely, comfortable, spacious house. The view from the front of the house is amazing! You can see across the valley to the sea. The house is well equipped with everything you need. It is a lovely, peaceful location and an ideal base for exploring Exmoor, Porlock, Bossington, Dunster and many more places. We will definitely return. Highly recommend.
Rebecca
The house is absolutely beautiful inside and out. Plenty of space for a big family like ours to spread out. A dining table big enough for everyone to share meals around which can easily be prepared in the amazingly equipped kitchen. Top of the range washing machine and tumble dryer. A big fridge and freezer. Airer and washing line for the summer days. The outside furniture is lovely to admire the view over minehead. Having fans was great especially as we stayed during a heatwave. The annexe is great and gave the eldest member of our party her own independence, only niggle is the shower step is a little high. All the bedrooms in the main house are really big and the family bathroom and en suite both had strong warm showers which were lovely. We had a brilliant week and were all comfortable.
Bernard
Weve returned to 2 Moorlands for a number of years and feel it offers everything we need for an excellent family holiday. The house is well located, well presented and well equipped and we will be going back next year..
Lovely house in an enviable position on the hillside overlooking Minehead. Very well equipped, all instructions clear to understand, we had a wonderful holiday with glorious weather. We forgot the dogs water bowl but I am sure it will come in handy for other dog owners at the property. Thank you Linda Anderson
Really lovely cottage. Easily accommodated 9 2 dogs. Very well equipped and plenty of platescups and glasses. Just a couple of points that we found was due to the great weather there weren't enough fans for the rooms, a stair gate would have been useful and although lovely the sofas in the main living room for us were quite low. It is on a hill and those with mobility issues will struggle but the views are spectacular. We had a great week with family and great weather too. Very recommended stay. Thank you
Geoffrey
We have been going to no 2 moorlands now for eight years and after each visit ... We have been going to no 2 moorlands now for eight years and after each visit come home relaxed and revitalised my mum was eighty this year and I gave her the choice of Madeira or minehead and my mum as you have guessed chose minehead having the annexe I was able to ask my mother and father in law if they would like to come as they are a bit unstable on there legs And as the annexe has no stairs was just right for them will be returning again next year five stars
Lovely house big enough for all of us Which was 8 adults 1 small child plus a baby and puppy dog. We had a great stay and we'll be back in the future thanks.
We had a fabulous stay at 2 Moorlands. The pictures do not do it justice, the house and location exceeded our expectations and was perfect for 4 adults, 3 older teens and our collie. The house had everything we needed and enough space to accommodate 2 of our teens revising for GCSE and A levels in between Somerset excursions. The location was wonderful with beautiful views. We loved the quietness of the area, sitting on the terrace listening to birds, watching the stars, looking over the bay. We loved walking down the winding streets past the ancient church and perfectly kept thatched roof cottages, we loved the short walk to the shops and town, we loved the trip to Dunster Castle, we loved discovering beauty in Exmoor and must return! Thank you.
2 moorlands is a lovely home and we had a wonderful time. I suspect we might return again it was so nice. Great space in the main house. The annex is smaller than the photos look but more than adequate when most of your time is in the main building. The beds are great and very comfortable. The drive is steep as it says in the description and I certainly would not recommend more than 2 cars unless you are very confident at reversing down a steep slope on a bend. But parking for 2 is great and we had no problems Couple of things to make it better, metal baking trays for the oven, a second frying pan, better fireproof gloves for the log burner and bath sheets rather than towels. Two small mantinance issues are the shower screen in the main bathroom leaks, we just put a towel down, and the smaller sofa in the lounge is starting to sink, its ok but will need replacing or renewing soon.
ovely property, well maintained and clean, great views, very well equipped, was dressed for Xmas which was a lovely surprise. Fabulous stay, throughly recommended !
The property was really good, very modern and spacious. The only thing we missed was Netflix on the television and maybe a radio. However the most disappointing part was the dangerous approach to the house up a very steep and narrow path lane. We did not attempt or consider walking up or down to the house. Unfortunately the surrounding area to get to the property was extremely hilly with very narrow lanes.
Bernard
Excellent accommodation. A really comfortable stay and some significant improvements since last year, notably the new furniture on the enlarged terrace.
Wonderful property with such amazing views. Could do with gates on patio areas to keep dogs in but we just moved a chair to block the gap. Spotlessly clean, everything you would ever need and the water and cake was a lovely welcoming touch. Would highly recommend this property.
Michael
Back yet again. The house is kept to a very high standard and very clean.. It has everything you need. The new front patio is ideal for sitting out having morning coffee or evening beer and just relaxing. Would recommend to anyone who wants a relaxing, quite holiday and appreciates the view's.
We had a great stay, the house had everything we needed.
Edmund
We really enjoyed our stay, the house was beautifully presented. Everything we needed and more was available for us to use. absolutely fantastic!
Excellent accommodation in a very picturesque location with fine views overlooking Minehead. Good weather meant we were able to take advantage of the attractive patio after breakfast and later in the afternoon. Had all the equipment and facilities required for a very enjoyable stay. However if you walk down into Minehead for an evening meal and pint, it's a steep walk back up the Holloway to Moorlands particularly if you are 80 years old. One maintenance issue wheels are missing on one side of the Dishwasher basket making it difficult to load at times.
Excellent house and annexe for our extended family with different demands and ages. Clean, well equipped and made for a lovely Xmas!
Vernon
We went so the family could meet up together. The house was great for five family members to spend sometime together. Mum and dad dont do stairs so they stay in the annex. I am anything we needed was there, we could all sit around the dining table together. We had a great time together. One very small thing we would have like some baking trays, but we used other things which were there. Over all 1010.
Michael
We had a great time , again. the house is always clean well presented. We did find 0ne issue, hence the sad face in the facilities & maintenance. because we wish make the owner aware there is a leak around the shower screen at the tap end. This causes quite a puddle which if not dealt with will cause serious issues
House is lovely and great for 10 people family holiday house. Very clean, great views, comfy beds and in a good location but it is hilly. The house itself is not disability friendly lots of uneven surfaces and steps shame because the annex is great for the older members of the family. We enjoyed our stay and nothing was to much trouble for the owner, would defiantly stay there again . Personally I would change the one room into a loungediner and dining room into a tvquite room.
Daniel
We had a fantastic 2 week break at 2 Moorlands. The house was really clean on arrival and had no issues at all. The view from the living and dining room is fantastic. There were a few issues with Annexe in the 1st couple of days due to bugs and spiders which calmed down after the 1st couple of days. Overall a great place to stay.
The house was great, very clean and a good size. Plenty of room for 8 adults and 2 pets. Both the annex and downstairs of the house stayed cool so perfect when you take your pets with you. Great hosts as well, a welcome book with helpful info restaurant suggestions, nearest supermarkets etc and clear contact details should any issues arise. Our stay was great though and we didnt have any issues so we didnt need to contact them luckily. Would definitely go back.
The property was beautiful and even better than the photos depicted. The housekeeper, Beata, who we called a week in advance of our stay was very helpful and confirmed that the Courtyard annexe would be prepared for my elderly mother to stay in so she could avoid the stairs. We were very impressed with the cleanliness and the thoughtful provision of all essentials, milk, water, tea and coffee, washing up and cleaning products. Only small niggle was Mum having to clean up some kind of bugs in the Annexe bathroom daily, and I see that this has been mentioned previously by a client who stayed there. The driveway entrance is very tight and on a sharp angle, might be difficult for anyone with a larger car. Overall we had a very comfortable stay with stunning views over Minehead and the bay. The visitor book is full of good reviews, and we added ours.
Excellent cottage from its elevated position with views across Minehead looking out to sea.
2 Moorlands is a lovely house and we really enjoyed staying there. The house was immaculately clean and this was greatly appreciated. The view from the dining room is spectacular.
Michael
Spacious property, very well maintained and clean. Nice and quite and the view is to die for. Well recommended.
A very wellequipped house in a splendid position above Minehead, affording tremendous views. The property was very clean and well lookedafter. There was ample space for our extended family of 7 adults and 2 children and we would certainly recommend it. There was some confusion when booking as to whether the annexe was included it was, but we were told initially that it wasn't. Perhaps this should be clarified in the listing and with the owner
Great location, view over Minehead is really something.
Sharon
Great house with a fabulous views. Lovely walks up to the church and into the town although some may find it a bit challenging as the surrounding lanes are quite steep. House was very clean and comfortable Would definitely recommend this property.
Theresa
Lovely spacious house in a beautiful, elevated position overlooking the town. The walk from town is steep and taxing if walking, but only a couple of minutes away by car. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, despite the intense heat.
Christopher
The property is beautiful and was spotless. Couldn't complain at all. Kitchen facilities were amazing and we even used the fire pit to toast marshmallows. We were very lucky with the weather and the views were fab and the church bells just finished a perfect day. Not a complaint but we would have loved a couple more chairs around the dining table as not enough for 9 to seat together. The outside seating area at front of property would be fab if levelled. Thank you for contributing to our amazing holiday.
A lovely property with stunning views across Minehead and the bay. To get those beautiful views it is quite a steep climb up the hill from the town, but we were all feeling very fit by the end of the week. It is only about a 10 minute walk down to the High Street and shops and the lovely Blenheim Park and about a further 5 minutes to the beach or harbour. We found it a very comfortable, spacious and well appointed house, with areas both in the front and back of the house for sitting out. We definitely recommend this property.
Michael
Really spacious home, V clean and well equipped. The views over Minehead and beyond just have to be seen. Only things I would like is a clock in the sitting room take the one out of the kitchen as there is a clock on the oven and a First Aid on the draw with the First Aid kit , it just makes it easier to find.
Everything exceeded our expectations. The property was extremely clean and had great facilties. The beds were so comfy, as was the sofa. We loved where the house was situated, perched on the hill with amazing views over Minehead. Just a short walk away into town and beach we found great independent shops, cafes, bars etc. We especially enjoyed the beach and harbour. Visiting local areas was so easy do to the location of the house. This was one of our best finds and highly recommend it to anyone having a staycation.
Just returned from a 2 family Christmas break, 5 adults and 2 small children. The house was a perfect venue for us all to celebrate and the Christmas decorations made it feel very festive. The dining room was a perfect size for us all to sit and enjoy Christmas lunch and use the log burner in the evening. The lounge was a comfortable place to relax in. The elevated view overlooking the bay from the front of the property is absolutely stunning both day and night. A very warm and comfortable house for an anytime break.
This is a lovely house. We have used it twice. Very enjoyable, beautiful views. There was a dummy under our bed though, suggesting the bed had not been cleaned underneath from previous stay. The pillows could do with being replaced too as they arent comfortable.
Beautiful, well equiped house in a beautiful area. nice seating area at the front that looks down to the sea & catches the sun in the morning.. lovely walk down to minehead town not too far at all!
