The Old Watermill Reviews

Margaret
Thank you for a very enjoyable weekend
John
We enjoyed a lovely stay at the Old Watermill which provided everything we needed for an extended family of eight. The setting, with views over to the Westbury White Horse, were great and we enjoyed some beautiful sun sets. The building though large with 3 floors of accommodation, was still cosy with well chosen soft furnishings and furniture that suited the age of the building. We all slept well in the comfortable beds and found the kitchen facilities more than adequate for our familyâ??s shared dining experiences. We had great communication from the owners and a lovely welcome pack on arrival which was much appreciated. This makes an excellent central location to visit many historic sites from as well as enjoying the landscapes of Wiltshire and nearby Somerset.
David
Very enjoyable break in this fabulous location and property . Perfect property for a large family holiday , ideal location with many attractions within easy distance. Would highly recommend this property to others.
Jenny
We stayed at the Old Mill for 4 nights for a reunion of old friends. We very much enjoyed the property, quirky and atmospheric, comfy beds. We found it a great location to explore the nearby area. We were very lucky to have a warm sunny week so visited Stourhead, walked along the locks at Devizes, walked round Bradford on Avon (very pretty), and went up to the Westbury White Horse and walked round the iron age hill fort.
Chrissy
A lovely cottage in a beautiful setting. Host very friendly and helpful, would definitely stay again.
Manisha
Lovely home for a family trip.
Carol
Beds were only doubles 4ft6ins, except for one bedroom which was a king. Itâ??s a shame as the bedrooms are very large and could accommodate kings or superkings. So it was a bit of squeeze for guests at 6ft2ins. Overall a good location for our meeting up with family members.
Laura
Lovely spot, with a view of the Westbury white horse and the sound of the water for the mill. House in very good order, warm and clean with four good-sized and comfortable bedrooms, and open plan kitchen. Hosts were easy to contact, would stay agin.
Neil
A very well appointed and charming cottage with a truly unique feature - the gears of the old watermill. The beds and linen were super comfortable, fresh and clean so we had a wonderful nights sleep in the quiet of the countryside (we're from the city!).
Michaela
The Old Watermill was perfect for our group of six adults, a toddler and two babies. The kitchen was perfect for family meals and the little sofa came in very handy when time out needed with the children. It was well stocked and the owner had left some thoughtful extras. The lounge was great with comfortable seats and space for the 3 year old to play and the 1 year old to toddler round. The owner was so friendly and on hand to help with any questions.
Alexandra
The property is beautifully put together and large for our extended family vacation. Very spacious living, dining and kitchen areas and the home was well heated, warm and cosy. Beautiful hamper as we arrived set the scene for our stay.
Sarah
Excellent cottage which was perfect for our family to all meet together. It was beautifully maintained and the host was very welcoming. Highly recommend this cottage
Carolyn
We had a lovely, enjoyable holiday at the Mill, our party consisted of adult siblings, and everything was perfect for us. The Mill is comfortable, warm, large but also cosy. It was lovely to see all the exposed beams and the old waterwheel. Plenty of crockery and equipment if needed, and the location was perfect for visiting Bath, Warminster, Bradford on Avon, Devizes etc. Jane is the perfect host.
Frances
We simply had the best time in this beautiful, well appointed house. We didn't want for anything and Jane (the owner) was wonderful, before during AND after our visit. A lovely property in a fabulous location. We hope to return sometime. Thank you.
Kathleen
Lovely house with all we needed, plenty of room for grown up family & partners. Loved the waterwheel feature, unique. Easy to get to Stonehenge & see the white horse.
Andrew
the cottage was lovely, had some lovely features.
Shirley
We enjoyed a wonderful weeks stay at The Old Watermill. It was so lovely to see that the original mill's workings are still in the property. The kitchen/dining room and the lounge are very spacious. The owner Jane was very welcoming and friendly and we really enjoyed the welcome items she left for us. The location was very handy for visiting many great Wiltshire locations.
Rebecca
The cottage was gorgeous. Itâ??s well equipped, clean and comfortable. The host was really welcoming and couldnâ??t do any more to help us. We would definitely recommend and hope to be back one day.
Elaine
This is a really lovely property with some fabulous touches. We really appreciated the welcome pack and generous supplies for the dishwasher etc. Lots of great places to visit in under an hour. Owner gave us some excellent restaurant/pub recommendations as well.
Kimberley
