Monkham House Reviews

Gary
Monkham House was perfect for us as a mixed group of 14 adults. Bedroom flexibility (couples / singles) was great (1st floor bedrooms and bathroom - some have been recently refurbished - are swisher than the second) several differnt areas to mix and chat, nice kitchen. Easy walk (with a torch) to two great local pubs serving good food. Excellent location for outdoor activities (we were mountain biking and walking) with plenty of touristy stuff nearby
Anne
Monkham House was a great house for our 3 generation family holiday.. plenty of space for 15 of us to be comfortable and not cramped. Wonderful garden for the children to run around in, lovely views from the terrace. Lots to do in the local area. Quite well equipped. Homely feel to the house which enabled the children to be comfortable and parents to relax. We enjoyed our stay.
Edwin
A lovely house in an amazing location with village amenities a walk away and endless walking and beach options a short drive away. Helpful house manager. Highly recommended
Jessica
A beautiful big house in a cute village on the moor. Lovely grounds and setting with the horses next door. Nice pub within walking distance and a nice kitchen and eating areas for a group. Could do with a little TLC but it looks like they're doing up areas of the house and it's perfect for a trip with friends! Good kids play room too to keep little ones entertained!
Bryan
Great location and very comfortable accommodation. The garden is very therapeutic to relax in with stunning views.
Beth
We had a wonderful time at Monkham House for my Mums 60th birthday. We were a multi-generational group of 13 adults, 1 baby and 4 dogs. We had plenty of space and loved that there were two reception rooms to socialise. The two fridges were very useful. If you are heading there make sure to take extra toilet roll and bin bags. Communication with Nikki was very easy and we would really like to return next year.
Madelaine
We had a wonderful stay. Found the House Manager to be really helpful when we had queries and the house was very comfortable for our group. Would recommend! A good location too for hiking.
David
Very well equipped and comfortable. Plenty of space for us all to be together or alone as we wished. Excellent location in the heart of Exmoor
Steph
Fantastic location with amazing views nice clean fresh comfy beds and plenty of lounging space. beautiful gardens Could just do with some hairdryers-(though host brought some over thankyou) more loo rolls and some more kitchen equipment eg sharp knives otherwise perfect and a great location
Susan
Lovely pretty location spacious accommodation gorgeous garden too. Nikki very helpful
Chris
A wonderful setting with magnificent views & large child friendly garden. The House was an ideal size for our family group of 17 but needs a good deep clean and modernisation throughout, especially bathrooms & WCs. Dog smells & hairs on sofas (we had no dogs). Also poor WiFi. Exford is a lovely village with a store, 2 pubs, tea room & a PO. Easy access to Lynton & Lynmouth, Porlock Weir, Exmoor Wildlife Park, Tarr Steps & Woolacombe Beach. Would only recommend to friends if it had a load of TLC.
Stuart
A lovely house in a lovely location with a fantastic large garden ideal for children
Gerard
Beautiful located house in the middle of Exmoor with more then enough rooms for a big family like us (10 adults, 3 children and a baby and three dogs). Beautiful large garden with a proper fence (dogs cannot get through). There are lots of games available for the kids and kitchen equipment is very complete. The terrace is hudge and very comfortable. All in all we had a fantastic holiday also due to lovely weather!
Antoine
Lovely house in a great location. Perfect for Big family. We were thirteen guess including seven childrens, enough space for everyone, and rooms remained quiet. Exmoor National Park is such a lovely destination.
Robin
We found this property to be spacious and comfortable for us all - 14 people and 4 dogs. All the equipment we required was a available but we did feel a tumble dryer would have been welcome instead of the spare fridge which wasnââ?¬â?¢t required as the large American fridge/freezer in the kitchen was more than adequate. Other reviewers have commented about some ââ?¬Å?datedââ?¬ decor but given the property caters for 16 guests AND 4 dogs we found it perfect for our needs. Thanks to Nikki for everything.
Jay
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay with friends and families. Location was perfect for a getaway from busy working life, place was comfortable and spacious. Host was responsive to our queries.
