Nempnett Farmhouse, Nempnett Thrubwell

The place was clean, and had everything you might reasonably want despite one of us wanting TV's in every bedroom . The beds were really comfortable. The hot tub was a welcome addition, and there were no major problems except it took us nearly a week to find the instruction booklet perhaps this would be better placed so that it was one of the first things you saw as you came in? so the not so good things. 1 Although the farmhouse is not advertised as wheelchair friendly, one of us walked with a stick all of the time, and their balance was not great, so... a The stair case on the main side you cannot hold onto the banister rail at the top. b None of the baths or shows had grip rails. c None of the showers had somewhere to put your soap, shampoo, etc whilst in the shower. d All of the baths and showers could do with a grip mat, otherwise they are quite slippery. e The hot tub could do with a rail to grip as you get in and out one of us slipped on the wet stairs and went flying. f The step up and downs between rooms is not clear some indication on the steps that there is a step would be useful perhaps hazard tape or white paint? None of these would cost the earth, but would be so useful. 2 Not the farm house's fault, but the roads are so narrow, that quite a few times we had to reverse to find somewhere we could pull in and let tractors etc pass a natural hazard of the area, I know, but some mention in the description would be nice. 3 the availability of things to do all of the leaflets were in a hall desk drawer it might have been nice to know where to look perhaps a stand on the desk iteself? 4 A list of takeaways that would deliver to the farmhouse would have been useful.

Nempnett Farmhouse is one of the best holiday homes we have ever rented. It is wellmaintained, wellequipped, and very clean, with a great layout featuring separate bedroom areasideal for a multigenerational group like ours. There is a lovely, elevated garden with a wonderful view and a heated spa. The garage has been converted into a games room with table tennis, darts, and billiards. The surroundings are beautiful, and there is easy access to Bath, Bristol, Cheddar, Wookey Hole, Wells, Glastonbury, and WestonsuperMare. Meg was quick to respond to any practical questions. Nempnett Farmhouse comes highly recommended.

The house was absolutely perfect and gorgeous for the countryside hen do we wanted for our best friend. Meg was so helpful and responsive and she even wrote us a lovely message on the board, and baked us a gorgeous, delicious cake. We loved our stay

What a lovely house. Plenty of space for all of us 7 adults and 5 children. Couldn't have asked for anything more other than better weather. Amazing location, peaceful and lovely to wake up to the birds singing. Lots to do without having to travel too far. Would fully recommend it. Great communication from the owners who made us feel really welcome

Nempett house was a beautiful property and provided to ideal location for us as a family to get together. The photographs of the property do not do it enough justice and we were pleasantly surprised with what the property had to offer upon arrival.

Fabulous place. 200 year old farmhouse tastefully modernised. Spacious and comfortable, well equipped, with enough to do to keep all the family happy. Only 2 miles from airport but very quiet and peaceful, beautiful countryside. Ideal place to relax and unwind.

Such a lovely house. The house was even better than the photos. A great size to entertain and have space to relax.

I booked Nempnett Farmhouse to celebrate a birthday and the house was perfect. It comfortably accommodated 12 people its more spacious than it appears in the photos! The hot tub and games room were very much enjoyed and there is lots to do in the surrounding areas. It was also the cleanest holiday property Ive ever stayed in. Meg was incredibly helpful and always quick to answer any questions. Would absolutely recommend for groups of family or friends.

I wish to highly commend the owners for their prompt action regarding the broken boiler. They acted quickly to provide 11 portable oil electrical radiators and lot of logs for the fire in the living room. Also ensured the emergency electric water heating system was activated inmediate. These solutions, were very efficient at warming up the house, enabling us to enjoy our stay. Plus, the hot water didn't run out, even with 12 of us. We had a very nice time for new year and the 80th birthday of my husband. Marita

Our family 8 adults and 4 Children spent a brilliant Christmas week at Nempnett Farmhouse. The owner made us feel welcome and were very accommodating without being intrusive. The house itself is large but without losing its cosy feeling and is very well equipped. The log burner was excellent warming the sitting room perfectly. The games barn was located in a double garage adjacent to the house and contained pool, table tennis and darts which were all well used. The house is ideally located for exploring the Mendip Hills and Chew Valley and Blagdon Lakes. Those who like bird watching can obtain a permit from Bristol Water that allows access to areas of the lakes that are not open to the general public. This is a simple online process. The Turkey purchased from the owners farm was a triumph. I cannot extol the virtues of Nempnett Farmhouse enough. A fabulous stay and we would certainly return in the future.

What a beautifully cosy and stunning home! We felt comfortable and welcomed from the moment we arrived, and we would definitely recommend it. There are just a few points worth mentioning. We visited in November and found the games room extremely cold, as there was no heating, which limited how much time we could enjoy it. We also ran out of gas for the cooker in the middle of preparing a special anniversary meal for my parents, and it took a while to get it resolved, which was quite stressful. Lastly, we were disappointed that the amount of firewood provided wasnt enough for the duration of our stay. Considering the cost of the booking, we felt that additional logs for the nights we had already paid for should have been included rather than charged extra. Overall, its a wonderful place, but addressing these points would make the experience even better.

This Farmhouse was absolutely stunning and was perfect for 11 of us. We were made to feel very welcome and had the best weekend.

Fabulous accommodation for a family get together and their dogs. Everything from comfortable sofas and beds, great showers and well equipped kitchen were perfect.The hot tub and games room was a bonus and entertained the children. Nempnett Farm was a cozy and luxurious stay. From being a perfect location for days out to having everything you need for a fun family day at home. Meg and family went above and beyond, from little chocolates on the pillows, to birthday banners for our occasion. They really made us feel special. The house is simply stunning. With great facilities.

Nempnett Farmhouse was spotless, spacious and extremely well equipped the perfect holiday house for our multigenerational family trip. We couldnt have been more comfortable on the highend furniture, the amazingly well stocked kitchen was perfect we didnt want for any appliance or utensil!, and the bathrooms were beautifully appointed too. We had space to both spread out and also to come together as a family and the games room and hot tub were also a brilliant bonus. Meg was a fantastic host, really responsive and friendly, and the little extras left in the house on arrival were a lovely touch. Weve been doing a halfterm trip as a group for years now and Nempnett Farmhouse was unanimously voted the best by far! Thank you so much to The Fords for sharing your beautiful property with us!

As a large family group with a wide range of ages, we spent most of the weekend complimenting the accommodation. Meg texted on the morning of our arrival and left a lovely personal message celebrating my mums birthday. We were assured that nothing would be any trouble and if needed anything at all, we just needed to ask. We didnt have to ask for anything. Our stay at Nempnett Farmhouse was absolutely fantastic. Theres a very good chance well be visiting again

Absolutely perfect for a group of friends to relax in for a couple of days. The owners were so helpful and friendly. Couldn't recommend enough.

Absolutely beautiful farmhouse, lovingly renovated to a high standard. Very thoughtful little touches like homemade muffins apon arrival. Book with helpful tips on what to do in the area, shops etc. Well supplied kitchen for making meals. Well secured garden for dogs so my fur babies couldn't go off for their own holiday somewhere. The owners were very quick to respond and rectify any issues. Absolutely Beautiful setting, so scenic and quiet. It is very much in the countryside so prepared for the very narrow country roads!

Lovely farmhouse slept all eleven of us comfortably. Perfect location for peace and quiet but not too far from Bristol, Bath or Weston Super Mare. Hosts were brilliant and sorted the two issues we had over the week as quickly as possible. Would highly recommend. Thank you Meg and George for a fantastic week.

Absolutely wonderful property and really enjoyed by all. Thank you for such a clean and family friendly place to stay. Nice selection of toys for our children, wonderful garden, comfortable beds, good showers... The only thing we'd have added would be a parasol on the patio. But generally a pretty faultless place to stay.

We had a lovely family stay. The house was immaculate! Meg was communicative and helpful sourced an extra highchair for us before the stay and stair gates. The house had everything we needed and more. The selection of toys was lovely, we neednt have packed any!! We were lucky enough to get a look round the farm, which was a real highlight and the kids loved it. Brilliant owners, couldn't fault anything! The kids loved to play in the garden. The hot tub was great. Secure for dogs. We would definitely recommend and definitely stay here again. Thank you so much.

Lovely accommodation

We had a wonderful week at Nempnett Farmhouse. The house is perfect for a large family gathering and has everything you could possibly need to make your stay comfortable and enjoyable. It is set in beautiful, quiet surroundings and the garden area with the hot tub is so relaxing. Meg was a lovely host, Highly recommended.

What a fab time we all had, all 11 of us and what an amazing property it was. So much space for all of us and an absolutely fabulous well equipped kitchen. The hot tub was enjoyed by all and the games room was a fantastic bonus for everyone, well chilled Sunday had by all of us playing pool, table tennis and darts and the hot tub! The only downside was only booking for the weekend we were all so sad to leave on the Monday. The cake on arrival was a lovely touch for the hubbys special birthday, and knowing the owners were only a text message away if needed was lovely to know. Accommodation 1010 Cleanliness 1010 Things to do 1010 Well equipped kitchen 1010 and then some Space 1010 and more! Fab time had by all ages 6 60 Thank you!

A superb farmhouse. Everything was perfect. We stayed for a week with a mixture of friends and families and we all had a wonderful time. During our stay, there were a couple of things we asked questions about and they were answered straight away and nothing was too much trouble. Everything you could possibly need during your stay is provided and thought about.

We had a fantastic stay at Nemphett farmhouse over Christmas. The house was perfect ! It was spacious, clean, warm, had everything we needed and the hosts were very welcoming ! We look forward to booking a stay again.

Amazing place and lovely owners. They checked in with us and we had a slight issue with hot water but were round immediately and rectified. Really nice place and very accommodating. Made us and the kids feel welcome, arrived to personal message for my mums surprise arrival for her 60th with Halloween cupcakes. Even said the kids could trick or treat to theirs lovely family, location and cottage thank you it really did make mums 60th special x

Nempnett farmhouse is such a fantastic place to stay, the photos just dont do it justice! Meg was a fantastic host and extremely welcoming she even put up a birthday banner and lovely message after finding out we were there for a birthday celebration which was a really lovely touch. The house was huge but also felt very homely and extremely well looked after, everything was clean, and the facilities and location were both great. I couldnt recommend this place highly enough!

The farmhouse is fabulous the owner Meg has thought of everything, the farmhouse caters for young children so well the toy cupboard is stocked with toys also lots of books and board games for children and adults. We stayed with 4 generations of our family from 18 months to 88 years! The hot tub was a firm favourite and the outside space was great with climbing frame and slide and a lovey touch was the homemade cakes! A personal birthday message was left on the blackboard which was great! The bedrooms and bathrooms were immaculate, five star cleanliness throughout the whole house. Games room was a bonus. Meg was easily contactable and responded by return if you had any questions. Would 100 recommend this house for all age groups. A stay with lots of family memories made!

Nempnett Farmhouse is absolutely beautiful and we could not have wished for a better place to celebrate my special birthday with family. The fresh milk and muffins were delicious and the extra touches like the birthday banner and the bottle of bubbly and lovely message just added to a perfect weekend. The house is so well equipped, the beds amazingly comfortable and the living room and dining room were perfect. The kitchen has everything you could need too. The highlight for my grandsons was the hot tub and games room. We have enjoyed a wonderful weekend together many thanks indeed.

Very comfortable, clean and well equipped. We were 8 adults but there was plenty of room. Personally I would have liked an en suite but with 3 bathrooms we were able to cope very well

5 accommodation for everything. Excellent communications. Loved the Farmhouse and really hope to return maybe at Christmas New Year or Easter. Thank you for the cakes birthday banner milk etc. Sweets on towels were a treat. Baby items were very useful too especially the stairgates which are now being resourced by toddlers parents. Wished we could have stayed longer than the weekend but wortk calls for most of the family. Thank you again Meg and family x
